2007-2008 Audtion Requirements
Scale and arpeggio Requirements: All scales and arpeggios will be played from memory, 2 octaves (bass 1 octave), slurring two 8th notes with quarter note = 88.
Violin, Viola, Cello: Two octave scales and arpeggios, slurring two eighth notes per bow Quarter note = 88 C, G, D, A, F, Bb, Eb
Scales and arpeggios must be memorized Do not play 3 octaves, we are asking for 2 for consistency and brevity
Bass: C, G, D, A, F, Bb two octaves; Eb one octave.
Solo: One movement of a work which is demonstrative of your ability. Due to the enormous number of violin auditions it should be noted that a well prepared Seitz or Vivaldi concerto is the minimum level for consideration into the orchestras.
Sight Reading: All students will be asked to sight read.
